General Description: narrow pointed muzzle, dark stripes on its shoulders, back, and tail

Habitat: parts of the Kalahari desert

Behavior: highly social, living in colonies of 20-30 members

Diet: insects, snails, spiders, rodents, ground-nesting birds, eggs, lizards, bulbs and roots

Reproduction: gestation period is 75 days, 2-4 cubs are born
